Breakfast on the Go!

We all know how important breakfast is. It refuels and recharges your body to give you that much-needed boost in the morning. According to nutritional experts (and foodies), a good breakfast should consist of the following food groups; whole grains, lean proteins, dairy and fruits, and vegetables.

Bananas and mangoes are good for your gut health, they help with your blood pressure and they promote good skin. They are both great sources of energy, something we all need to tackle the morning ahead of us. Spinach, one of the most nutritionally dense vegetables, provides the body with antioxidants, fiber, calcium, folate, and Vitamin A, C, and K. All important vitamins for a balanced and healthy body. To maximize the benefits of this smoothie, I also add Irish Sea Moss Gel and chia seed. They are both great sources of quality protein and iron.

To get these food groups onto your plate in the morning may seem a little difficult and time-consuming if you are a ‘snooze-button-pusher’.  So what if you could take all these food groups, mix them, pour them into your mason jar and head off to work, all in under a space of 10 minutes?! Yes, this can be done and it is usually my go-to breakfast meal. My spinach, mango, and banana smoothie is a great combination of a basic healthy breakfast on the go.

Ingredients

1 cup of  spinach

½ cup of mango

1 banana

2 tablespoons of Irish Sea Moss Gel

1 teaspoon of chia seed

1 cup of water.

 

Directions

Blend all the ingredients. Serve in a smoothie or mason jar, and enjoy!
